| A Pan-Asian mix of bamboo, balconies and Burmese beef.
In Short Monsoon has cornered the L.A. market on bamboo, featuring a main room evocative of a Shanghai courtyard, complete with a tabled balcony. The upstairs lounge, through a red-velvet curtain, is dark and sultry. The menu offers cuisine spanning Southeast Asia, like Mongolian stir-fried lamb sirloin, Burmese curry beef served in red curry and coconut milk, and a Korean beef wrap with a miso Balinese sauce. | Insider Tips | Happy Hour Happy hours take place daily between 4pm and 7pm. Select beers, wines, cocktails and assorted sushi rolls are available for under $5.
What to Drink Try the specialty fruity typhoon cocktail, a potent mix of three rums.
Where to Sit The upstairs lounge serves the full dinner menu and features live jazz performers.
The Extras Every Wednesday night salsa lessons are offered from 7pm to 8pm, and live bands play at 10pm. | View full Citysearch profile Information provided by Citysearch |
